Coronavirus (COVID-19) Latest Update
Updated: 02.09.20
Dear Patients,
Firstly, we hope you and your loved ones remain safe and well.
We are pleased to say that we are now open to see patients..
Whilst many things may have changed over recent months, what hasn’t is our commitment to you and delivering the highest standards of patient care.
Safety and infection control have always been of the highest priority in our practice and over the past few weeks, we have been continually reviewing guidance, ensuring that we are providing a safe environment for our patients and team members. Planning our return to work has been ongoing for some weeks now and we have updated our operating procedures, increased our safety protocols as well as purchased enhanced PPE.
As a result of these increased protocols, your next visit to the practice may look and feel different. Our team members will be wearing enhanced PPE for some procedures, we will of course be promoting social distancing and your journey through the practice may be different. Fear not though, we are still the same team under the masks!!
Some additional measures we have taken to keep everyone safe include:
• Increased appointment intervals and limited number of people in the practice
• Separate clinics for patients who are most vulnerable
• A new process where you will be asked to wait safely outside the practice until we call you in
• Technology that allows forms to be filled out on your electronic devices before your appointment
• All our surgeries are fully disinfected between appointments with increased cleaning of other areas throughout the day. As well as our usual high standards of infection control we will be using the latest in air purification technology and aerosol decontamination throughout the practice.
• Payment by card and contactless where possible on booking or when leaving the practice
What you need to do if you want to make an appointment to see us
If you would like to arrange an appointment to see us please call us on 01204 304568. Please DO NOT call into the practice in person – first contact must be by telephone. Our reception team will then, if necessary, arrange an appointment or arrange a telephone or video consultation with one of our team.
If you are experiencing dental pain please call us and we will arrange an appointment for you. Emergency consultations will continue to be covered by your membership plans. Those who are not on any membership plans will be charged for their emergency consultations and any subsequent treatment required.
When we arrange an appointment we will need to carry out a COVID-19 risk assessment with you. We will ask you about your medical health and ask you some questions about any symptoms of coronavirus or tests you, or any members of your household, may have to determine if it is safe for you to come into the practice. We will confirm your appointment 24 hours before you are due to see us and ask the COVID-19 risk assessment questions again to ensure there have been no changes.
If you have symptoms of coronavirus or have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 7 days, are self isolating or are linving with someone who has symptoms or who has tested positive in the last 14 days, please do not attend the practice. If you have a dental emergency please call us on 01204 304568 and we will advise you on what to do.
Please try and come to your appointment alone and wear a face covering.
We would be grateful if as an adult you came alone. We understand that if it is your child who has a problem they must attend with an adult. Please try to ensure only ONE adult brings the child. We recommend that all patients (and carers if they will be coming into the practice) wear face coverings.
When you arrive, please do not enter the practice until we ask you to do so.
Please wait in your car, or at a safe distance from the entrance when you arrive at the practice and call us to let us know you have arrived. Once we are ready to receive you into the practice we will call you. On entering we will take your temperature and ask you to sanitise your hands. You will then be taken straight into our treatment rooms.
After your treatment
Once your treatment is complete, we will ask you to sanitise your hands before you leave the practice.
