Meet the Team

Dipesh, who is originally from the seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea, has gained a wide breadth of experience from working in several practices in the North West and also at Manchester Dental Hospital, where he has held posts teaching undergraduate and postgraduate dental students. Since qualifying from Sheffield University in 2004 with clinical distinction, Dipesh’s enthusiasm for dentistry has led him to further his skills through a range of postgraduate qualifications. He holds membership with the Royal College of Surgeons England in recognition of further training within the hospital sector, a Diploma in Dental Sedation (for the treatment of anxious patients) and both clinical and research Masters degrees in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics (restoration and replacement of teeth) and Endodontics (root canal treatment). As you can tell, Dipesh is very passionate about dentistry! It gives him immense satisfaction to help patients with their dental needs using a wide range of modern techniques and treatments. He particularly enjoys treating nervous patients and goes to great lengths to put everyone at ease to ensure a comfortable dental experience. Outside of work, Dipesh enjoys spending time with his two active daughters and keeping fit with regular gym sessions. After leaving Sheffield University in 2004 with clinical distinction and honours, Vilas has worked at practices in Bolton, Manchester and Wigan. Vilas has also worked as an Educational Supervisor, helping to train newly qualified dentists in general dental practice. At Harwood Dental Care, Vilas provides routine general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental rehabilitation, and adult orthodontics. She is also trained to provide treatment under sedation for anxious patients. Vilas finds her job very rewarding and it gives her great pleasure to use her extensive skills to help people with their dental problems. Vilas’ enthusiasm for dentistry has led her to achieve several postgraduate qualifications. These include the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons England, enabling her to carry out many advanced dental treatments. Vilas has also been awarded the title of Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry in recognition of her career long commitment to leadership and excellence in Dentistry. Outside of work, Vilas is married to Dipesh and they have two beautiful girls, Avni and Naya. Both of whom keep them very busy!

Jonathan qualified from the University of Newcastle in 2006 and has achieved a Masters degree with distinction in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition Jonathan has received postgraduate training in conscious sedation allowing him to help anxious patients. He is passionate about the fields of implant dentistry and oral surgery and currently works in several practices in the North West providing dental implants and oral surgery services. He also teaches part time on the University of Manchester MSc in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery course. Jonathan has two young children and is married to a Helen. In his spare time Jonathan enjoys running, cycling and swimming as well as martial arts. Jonathan has a black belt in Karate and has recently completed a full Iron Man!

Louise was a dental nurse for 6 years before graduating from Greater Manchester School for Dental Care Professionals in 2008. After she has worked as a dental nurse at Manchester Dental Hospital, in the Community Dental Services and several General Dental Practices. Her experience has allowed her to develop a meticulous attention to detail. She particularly enjoys putting patients at ease and motivating them to maintain their oral health. In her free time Louise has a keen interest in food and loves trying new recipes especially Italian. She has a close family and enjoys taking my young niece and nephews on mini adventures.

After working as a dental nurse for a number of years Lisa then wanted to be more hands on and so qualified from The University of Liverpool Dental School in 2014 as a Dental Hygiene / Therapist. Now having over 10 years experience in dentistry Lisa possesses a genuine interest in the welfare of patients and is enthusiastic in helping patients achieve and maintain a high level of oral hygiene and dental fitness. In her spare time Lisa is busy planning her wedding, enjoys long walks, cooking at home and eating out with family and friends. She has been to lots of holiday destinations but her favourite are the Greek islands.

Cath joined the team at Harwood Dental Care in 2014 and works as our Reception Manager. Cath enjoys meeting all our patients and provides a friendly welcome when you come into the practice. She enjoys being part of a modern practice which offers a variety of advanced dental treatments and enjoys helping to make patients feel at ease. Cath has worked in dentistry since 1978 and qualified as a dental nurse in 1986. Her role as a manager has developed since 1990. She loves to share her knowledge and experience with the whole team and after working in Dentistry for so long she has a lot to offer! To relax Cath enjoys walking, reading and gardening. She also likes to socialise with friends and family. She loves to cook at home and enjoys eating out. Her favourite food is anything Mediterranean. The South of France and the Greek Islands are her favourite choice for holidays but her ambition is to visit Italy.

Emma joined our practice in January 2019 as a Trainee Dental Nurse, and with the help of the practice qualified in 2020.

Emma is keen to further her knowledge in gaining post qualifications such as Dental Radiography and Sedation Nursing to help with the many sedation treatment’s we offer at Harwood Dental Care. Emma is enjoying her time at the practice as every day is different to the last.

In Emma’s spare time she likes to spend time with her husband and two dogs, Buddy the Golden Retriever and Marley the Flat-Coated Retriever and will most likely find her walking them around Harwood and the surrounding area. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching the latest film at the cinema, eating out (as she isn’t a very good cook) and going to concerts.
